چکیده
The problem of a homogeneous isotropic elastic layer resting on rigid base and loaded by an internal point force is analytically investigated under plane strain conditions. displacement field sought as the superposition fundamental solution (doublet state) which allows satisfying boundary conditions at upper lower boundaries layer. represented through convergent Fourier integral transforms. Once closed form in transformed domain found, stress fields are assessed numerical inversion Results concerning both displacements stresses for different positions load application reported compared to FEM solution, finding very good agreement. solutions obtained horizontal vertical forces define Green’s functions layer, can be used describe mechanical interaction between embedded body. As striking application, laterally wall or diaphragm finally addressed, contact pressure and, turn, diaphragm.

An Axisymmetric Torsion Problem of an Elastic Layer on a Rigid Circular Base
A solution is presented to a doubly mixed boundary value problem of the torsion of an elastic layer, partially resting on a rigid circular base by a circular rigid punch attached to its surface. This problem is reduced to a system of dual integral equations using the Boussinesq stress functions and the Hankel integral transforms. With the help of the Gegenbauer expansion formula of the Bessel f...

متن کاملForce Chains and Resonant Behavior in Bending of a Granular Layer on an Elastic Support
In this paper we investigate the interaction between a granular layer and an elastic foundation using a coupled Discrete Element Method-Finite Element Method (DEM–FEM) computational model. We use this dynamics code to simulate quasi-static bending of the granular layer and we observe the changes taking place in the structure of the force chains for two cases: with and without rolling resistance...
متن کاملAn Axisymmetric Contact Problem of a Thermoelastic Layer on a Rigid Circular Base
We study the thermoelastic deformation of an elastic layer. The upper surface of the medium is subjected to a uniform thermal field along a circular area while the layer is resting on a rigid smooth circular base. The doubly mixed boundary value problem is reduced to a pair of systems of dual integral equations. The both system of the heat conduction and the mechanical problems are calculated b...
متن کاملA Contact Problem of an Elastic Layer Compressed by Two Punches of Different Radii
The elasticity mixed boundary values problems dealing with half-space contact are generally well resolved. A large number of these solutions are obtained by using the integral transformation method and methods based the integral equations. However, the problems of finite layer thicknesses are less investigated, despite their practical interests. This study resolves a quasi-stationary problem of...
